WriteOnCon 2011

The blog has been quiet for a while partly because I’ve been busy catching up with reading and working on the query letter and editing, etc. And also, for the last few days, I’ve been attending the WriteOnCon on-line writers’ conference. I was a little dubious at first whether it would be beneficial attending live chats with agents, dropping in on forums, and so on. But it was really beneficial. Lots of good advice given. I had my query letter critiqued by other writers (and by a professional agent!), and I was able to offer suggestions to others, too. And all for FREE! And, being on-line, it could be fitted around work. Made me want to go to a traditional conference–but there aren’t any local and they tend to be expensive. Who knows, one day, maybe.

So, all that said, I’m going to try to catch up on posts, since I’m sure you are all eager for the next installment of the query letter writing series! But also, we will be continuing our Romans series in Sunday School next month, so I need to get that blog series up-to-date and ready. And then there’s the reading, the editing, the writing, work, life… 🙂

Oh, and I’m looking for a better WordPress theme for the blog, so expect it to change a few times over the next few days while I settle on one I like. Feel free to offer suggestions in the comments!

This is cool. I like that the comment box is black and the words are white. But that is not enough for me to endorse the rest of the color scheme 🙂
