A Quick Plug For My Twitter Account!

You may or may not have noticed on the right-hand column, along with the list of categories and links, I have links to both my Facebook account and my Twitter account. I can only guess these get passed over when you look over there because, well, I’m not noticing a spike in friends or followers from this blog. Perhaps I’m wrong. But right now I have one follower on Twitter. And he’s my brother. Can I hear you say “Awwww!”? That’s okay, really. Except that I’m not really inspired to tweet very much given that I can just as easily instant message my brother. That doesn’t mean Twitter is completely useless. I’ve actually found agents to query thanks to Twitter re-tweets. And those people I follow (who probably have thousands of followers) tweet useful and often humorous things. So don’t feel bad for me. I’m not trying to guilt you into following me on Twitter…

… actually, doesn’t that whole vocabulary sound a bit creepy? I much prefer the Facebook “friending” concept. Being someone’s Facebook friend sounds much better than “following” someone on Twitter. That’s like stalking someone. Especially if they only have a couple of followers. So, let’s steal the Facebook terminology…

If I manage to get a couple more Twitter friends, a) my brother won’t feel like he’s stalking me–though I’m sure he actually likes the idea, and b) I might actually tweet more often. And I’ll follow you too. Mmm… sounds like a Genesis song… perhaps Twitter should adopt that as their corporate anthem!
