My Book of the Year for 2011
Here it is, ladies and gentlemen… the moment you’ve been waiting for! For at least the last minute, you’ve been tapping your fingers while your browser connects to my page in eager anticipation of seeing what drivel I’ve posted today so you can move on to more interesting blogs… Or perhaps you are actually interested to see which book made it as my BOOK OF THE YEAR!
So, in good reality TV tradition, here are the runners up in reverse order:
Which means my NUMBER ONE choice of all the books I read in 2011 is….
Thanks, Veronica for writing such an excellent story. I look forward to the next in the series, INSURGENT, which comes out in March!
Thank you to everyone that has taken time to read my blog over the past six or seven months that it’s been going, and a big BIG thank you to everyone that has subscribed to it, either by RSS feed or Google Friend Connect, or some other means. If you read this blog and haven’t joined on GFC, it really encourages me to see that number of members increase–so please join!
I hope you all have a wonderful WONDERFUL 2012! See you there. 🙂
I have Divergent on my bookshelf. I think it’s time I take it off and read it. It has made so many top books of 2011 lists. I also have the Uglies but let a friend borrow it months ago, I’m still waiting to get it back. I’m kind of regretting it now.
Happy New Year!
I don’t think I could ever write dystopian, and I never thought I would enjoy reading dystopian. Westerfeld and Roth made dystopian both exciting and interesting. If you enjoyed THE HUNGER GAMES, you’ll enjoy DIVERGENT. Heck, if you like a cracking good story with great characters, and moments of nail-biting tension, you’ll enjoy DIVERGENT! 🙂
Happy New Year to you, Theresa!
Ok I really need to read Divergent! 🙂
I already follow you but will add myself to your GFC as well!
Oups I am already in 🙂
Yes, you are… and I really appreciate your encouragement! Thank you so much, commutinggirl. 🙂
I couldn’t agree more with your #1 book. Such a good book! Can’t wait until May when Insurgent comes out. Hope you and your family have a great New Year’s and that 2012 is an all-around awesome year for you! 🙂
Thanks, Jaime! And may you and yours have a wonderful 2012 with completed novels, agent interest, and lots of writerly fun! 🙂
Loved Divergent so much I read it three times in ’11. Have not read any Westerfield, I’lll have to add them to the 2012 list. I follow you, but I’m not sure about the GFC. Let me know how (If I’m not) and I will do it. Happy New Year!
Thanks, farawayeyes! I will probably re-read DIVERGENT before INSURGENT comes out.
I see your picture on my GFC members (I presume that’s you, anyway), so it looks as if you’ve joined. I really do appreciate that. Knowing that people such as yourself are checking in regularly encourages me to make each post something worth reading, whether it’s informative, helpful, or just entertaining in some way.
Have a really wonderful 2012!
I’ll have to add Roth to my reading list. Thanks for sharing.
I haven’t read any others on your list, but DIVERGENT was indeed an awesome book. Loved it. AND LEVIATHAN is totally on my TBR list. I keep hearing great things about Scott Westerfield. I’m excited to read his books next year.
Divergent was one of my favorite books this year. I read Leviathan and Uglies too.
