Friday Fives: Five Lesser-Known Beatles Songs

I’ve mentioned before on this blog that I’m a huge Beatles fan and have been since I was about 11. I learned guitar playing along to Beatles records. And I have been sure my kids all know who they are and know at least some of their music.

So, for some fun, I thought I would present to you five Beatles songs that are a little more obscure, but I think hold up as well as the more well-known songs. With YouTube links, of course. Enjoy!

Have a great Friday! 🙂

  1. I’m pretty sure that Across the Universe might be my favourite Beatles song ever. I hadn’t heard this version before, so thank you.

You’re welcome. John Lennon actually recorded this version for a special album called, if I recall correctly, “Our World,” back in either 1968 or 1969, Various artists contributed songs to the project, and all proceeds went to the Word Wildlife Fund. The Phil Spector-produced version on the Let It Be album is all very nice and chorally, but there’s something about this slightly faster, bare-bones version that I find appealing.

You can tell we grew up in a Beatles house. I know all of those! 😀
