WriteOnCon is Next Week!

Just a quick heads-up to all my writerly friends. WriteOnCon 2012 starts next week, Tuesday, August 14th and Wednesday, August 15th! There will also be some pre-conference activity on Monday, August 13th you might want to check out.

What is WriteOnCon? It’s a FREE online writer’s conference, mainly focused on MG and YA (“kidlit”). To participate, you just need to register in the forum and turn up at the right time. Not only will there be presentations given by publishing professionals, there will be opportunities for Q&A, and chances to have your query (and/or initial pages) critiqued both by fellow writers and by “Ninja Agents.” Last year there was even a special forum for writers to find Critique Partners. All this, and more, and all for FREE, with no travel necessary.

If you want to learn more about what’s on offer this year, and details on how to register in the forum, go to the official WriteOnCon website. I hope to “see” you there!

I know it’ll be a challenge to keep up with your Camp NaNoWriMo goals while dropping in on WriteOnCon, but if you can do it, it’ll be well worth your time, Julie. 🙂

I’ve signed up. Don’t think I’ll have anything ready to query or show but I’m looking forward to the presentations! Might try and get a few query do’s and don’t’s tips from different agents.

I was hoping to have something ready, but I won’t either. The presentations and Q&As will be worth it, though. As will the forums. You can definitely pick up some good query tips from the forums–I know I did last year. I’m also considering using the event to find some CPs.

  3. I’m so excited!!!! It was amazing last year.

Oh no. I totally planned on “going” to this but I’m gonna be out of town on Monday and Tuesday. Boo. I’m gonna go feel sorry for myself now. 🙁
