You Like? [Updated!]
Just a quick FYI…
I’ve just added a new widgety-type-thing to the blog that lets you “like” posts. Okay, so all I did was install a WordPress update, so it’s not like I did something really clever. But if you like an article, you can now click on the “Like” button (next to the big “Like This:” prompt at the bottom of each article) and your like will be tallied. Not only that, but I will get nice warm fuzzy feelings from seeing that people like what I write, and others might be encouraged to read the article if lots of people like it.
I think the button will prompt you for some kind of log-in, probably to make sure each tally is unique. But it’s not like you have to decypher a Captcha code! So, go on… click the button and make my day! 🙂
UPDATE: It seems Susan is correct (see the Comments–not that I doubted her in the first place!): you need to have a WordPress account to use the button. Don’t get me wrong, I’m a proud WordPress user, but that’s kinda sucky. Oh well. I’m keeping the button for my fellow WordPressers, but if the folks at WP would like to consider modifying the button so non-WPers can use it without having to get a WP account they’ll never use, that would be wonderful…
🙁 Alas! I don’t have a WordPress account!
Does it require a WP account? Hmmm… oh well. I was hoping it would let you just click on it no matter what. Sorry. 🙁
