Wonderful Team Member Readership Award!

My choice of what to write for today’s A-to-Z Blogging Challenge article was made easy by Rachael Featherstone, who very kindly awarded me the Wonderful Team Member Readership Award. Thank you so much, Rachael. I’m honored!

This award is essentially a thank you to blog readers, which, I think, is a great idea. Even after more than a year of blogging, it still surprises me that people want to read the things I post here. I originally thought only members of my family, and maybe some of my more devoted friends, would ever read this. But it seems a variety of people stop by, some regularly, some every now and again, leaving comments, and generally making me feel like I’ve added something to their lives–even if it’s just a few minutes’ distraction from the world. And those who stop by this blog are from all over the world: both sides of the US (and various points in between), England, Scotland, Canada, Finland, Germany, New Zealand… it boggles the mind!

So a HUGE THANK YOU to all of you!

The award obligations are: to display the award logo (see above), finish the sentence “A great reader is…”, nominate 14 people for the award, and then let them know via comments or pingbacks (i.e., when you link to their site and they get a ping from the internet to say “hey, buddy–someone linked to your blog… go see why!”)

A GREAT READER IS… someone who interacts with the text (in this case, the blog).

I really appreciate everyone who reads my blog, but I especially appreciate those who leave comments, and who might even come back and respond to my response to their comments. Like we’re having a real conversation about the topic. Or wandering off topic… but enjoying the dialogue.

Of all the readers–aside from Rachael–who have graced the comments of this blog, I want to pick on the following 14. If you want to participate, that’s cool. If not (and I know some of you are weary of doing awards), just take this as a big THANK YOU from me:

  1. Robin Moran
  2. Jaime Morrow
  3. Elodie
  4. Suzanne Van Rooyen
  5. Emma Maree
  6. Miss Cole
  7. Miss Jersey
  8. Tracy Kuhn
  9. Stephanie Allen
  10. Samantha
  11. The Feather and the Rose (both of you, Susan and Tyler-Rose)
  12. Kirsty Stanley
  13. Erin Funk
  14. Daisy Carter

Please visit these people’s blogs! There are others I could have added, but the rules say 14, and these were the first 14 that sprung to mind. Again, thank you all for your comments!

You’re welcome, Robin! And thanks–I enjoy your blog, so it’s a pleasure to write article-length comments… I mean to comment and interact. ๐Ÿ˜‰

  4. Miss Jersey says:

Thank you for the award! I really enjoy reading your blog, it’s always full of interesting posts (and novel-length replies to comments, of course). Congratulations on receiving the award yourself, and again thank you for giving me one. ๐Ÿ™‚

You are very welcome, Anna! Thank you for taking time out of your day/week to stop by. I suppose I’ve subconsciously told myself that while I limit the word count in the articles so I don’t try the patience of my readers, if they comment, or ask a question, that’s an invitation for me to babble. ๐Ÿ˜€ I probably shouldn’t say that… people will stop commenting! ๐Ÿ˜‰

  5. Samantha says:

Wow, thank you so much Colin! I feel very honoured to have been included! I really love your blog. I find the subjects you write about current and interesting. You do a great job on it ๐Ÿ™‚

  8. Elodie says:

Congrats on the award Colin ๐Ÿ˜€ And thanks again so much for passing it on to me! I feel like Iยดve been a bad commenter/blogger lately…but I always read your blog and enjoy it very much! ๐Ÿ˜€

Thanks, Elodie. You’re very welcome. I don’t expect everyone to comment on everything–sometimes you can’t think of anything to say, and that’s okay. I’ve read articles this past month written by bloggers I enjoy, and while the article was good, I really couldn’t think of anything to say that would contribute to the discussion. But you do read my blog and comment from time to time, and I really appreciate that. ๐Ÿ™‚

  9. E.Maree says:

Thank you so much, Colin! You are, as ever, a gentleman. ๐Ÿ™‚

  10. tracykuhn says:

Thank you! And congratulations yourself. I’ve learnt a lot in the last few weeks, some of it from you and your posts always make me think, so thank you.

    • cds says:

You’re welcome, Tracy! I know some posts are just for fun, and there are some things I’m fascinated by that don’t capture everyone’s imagination, but I try to make the blog interesting. Thanks for your comments, especially this month during A-to-Z. I hope you’ll continue to stop by as you have opportunity. ๐Ÿ™‚

  11. Thank you!!!! Sorry we’ve been MIA recently–but we’ve nearly conquered the semester! Will pass this on as soon as we can. ๐Ÿ™‚

    • cds says:

You are so welcome and deserving, Susan! I saw the picture of the pile of books you and Tyler-Rose have to get through, so I understand. All the best with finishing up the semester so you can rejoin life… ๐Ÿ˜‰
