Yoga
Hey, wait… what? Wasn’t there another story here previously? Yes, but I didn’t like it. It was fine last night, but I woke up this morning-ish (it’s Saturday), re-read it and thought, “Come on, Colin, you can do better than that!” “But it’s posted! It’s out there! You can’t change it now!” I replied (writing is a solitary job, folks). To which I glared at myself in a rather petulant fashion. “Why not? It’s my blog!” So here you have it. A new story for Y on the A-to-Z Blogging Challenge. I’ve taken another one of Jill E. Warner‘s words from yesterday’s comments and written something I’m happier with. I hope you enjoy!
YOGA
Maria studied the illustrations on the wall then walked to the mat. She breathed deeply to calm her nerves, trying not to notice the camera.
She stood. First move. Simple. Straight legs, straight back, touch toes. Next the triangle, straight arms and legs, butt at the top. Now a T-shape, arms out, leg out, balanced on one foot. The moves became progressively more difficult, and she had to hold each one for five seconds.
Just as she was losing her balance with the last, the door slid open.
Why their instructor didn’t just give them key cards, she couldn’t fathom.
And so we come to the end. The last letter: Z. One last time, my friends–let’s have your Z prompt suggestions! 🙂
So I saw your previous post, but I had to get my oil changed so I left commenting to later. Then it was gone. Later, I saw it came back but I had to start laundry going. Then it was gone again. Now it’s different. Sheesh! I’m glad I didn’t comment earlier.
I didn’t understand the previous one, but I do understand this one! Yay me =)
Z is for Zootopia. Zipper mouth. Zany. Zeppelin. And Zounds! You finished!

I really didn’t think it worked, so I chopped it. My wife liked this one, so I’m glad I made the change! 🙂 Thanks for the suggestions, Dena.
Laughed at this one =)
Z…Zeus, zip-a-dee-doo-dah, zeppelin, zombie
Yay! More confirmation that I made the right decision. Thanks, AJ! And for the words…
Ooops, just read Dena’s words and realised I’d doubled up so instead of zeppelin, here’s ZANY instead.
You would think I could read (sorry, Dena). Try ZEAL (appropriate for me today!)
I applaud your determination, AJ. Thank you! 🙂
Zombie is a good one. And don’t worry about duplicates. That just means Colin should use the one that everyone suggests =)
Actually, I did “Zombie” for the 2014 A-to-Z Blogging Challenge. You can read it here:
https://www.colindsmith.com/blog/2014/04/30/zombie/
Though you should read the companion story, “Unicorn,” first:

It’s true. I might be swayed toward a prompt more than one person suggests…
How about Zzzzzź! You deserve a rest! I have so enjoyed reading your stories.
We’re in bonnie Scotland for a few days. Family wedding then visiting 2 of Bill’s childhood haunts to try encourage his memory!
Love to you all. J x
Thank you so much for your comments and encouragement, Jane! 🙂
I hope you both have a wonderful and rewarding time in Scotland. Love and blessing to you! 🙂
Another one who laughed here too! No suggestion as I’m catching up on the last day, I’ll just say it’s been great fun. Thank you!
